Nowadays, the Internet of Things (IoT) only consists of weakly interconnected separated networks. For example, in modern cars, several networks operate simultaneously: one controls the operation of the engine, the other – security systems, the third maintains communication, etc. In office and residential buildings, many networks are also installed to manage heating, ventilation, air conditioning, telephone communications, security and lighting. As the IoT goes up, these and many other networks, will connect to each other and acquire more and more features in the areas of security, analytics and management.
IoT assumes a high level of integration, support of multiple communication standards, efficient security solutions which combine reliable data protection with high energy efficiency.
The concept of the Cloud`s IoT is especially worth noting, its architecture should be based on innovative technology of network functions virtualization and Software-Defined Networks.
This area covers the following range of issues in the organization of IoT networks:
- Development of the components of the management system for virtual network between devices and IoT’s applications. This management system is based on the SDN controller.
- Developing a system for orchestrating devices (“things”) to adapt the operation of the Internet of Things infrastructure in a virtualized cloud service management system supporting existing IoT’s standards.
The primary research direction is:
- Development and implementation of an extension of the cloud’s infrastructure management system for the Internet of Things. The aim of this work is to propose an extension to the cloud’s infrastructure management system of IoT for NFV MANO platform C2.
